Bio
Hi, my name is Petrina Schooley. I am so excited to introduce myself to you and begin our learning lessons together! I am a passionate, experienced educator, and I find so much joy in helping students learn and become confident in their studies. I believe in respecting each student's unique needs and creating a personalized plan to help them meet their goals. My strengths include elementary literacy and math. In my spare time I enjoy visiting and helping my grandchildren who are 10, 8, 7, 3, and 1. I use my experiences helping them to enhance my teaching with other students. My teaching philosophy centers around the concept of having fun while learning. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, I will guide you through the learning process, providing clear explanations, ample opportunities for practice, and constructive feedback. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
Teacher Specialization
My teaching career started in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies with and emphasis in mathematics. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I started my career teaching mathematics, geometry and algebra with Junior High Students. I spent most of my career teaching elementary students in mostly self-contained classrooms. I have taught online for 4 years helping students increase their English skills. I am certified to teach First - Eighth grade all subjects.
