Bio
Hi! My name is Gabriella and I have been an elementary school teacher for 9 years. I am a California native and recently made the move to the East Coast. I love working with children and helping them achieve something they may have thought they were not able to. I believe in growth mindset and the power of "yet". School is challenging for a lot of students and they can get easily discouraged. I try to teach my students it may be hard now, but it won't be hard forever. Some students need more support than others and some want to continue learning for fun. That is why I am excited to get the opportunity to work with your student and help them continue their education journey.
Teacher Specialization
I hold a B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development, a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a North Carolina Elementary Educator's License. I have taught 1st-5th grade and worked with students across a wide range of academic levels. I specialize in foundational literacy skills, including phonics, phonological awareness, reading fluency, comprehension, and writing development, as well as early math and homework support. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and individualized, focusing on building both skills and confidence. I believe learning should feel supportive and engaging. Using evidence-based strategies and hands-on activities, I help students develop a strong understanding of concepts and a positive mindset toward learning.
